What information we collect

When a merchant installs our app, we access the following Shopify store data:

Product information (to sync our product catalogue)
Order information (to process personalised orders)
Store details (shop name, currency, locale)

When a customer uses the customiser on a merchant's store, we collect:

The personalised name entered by the customer
No other personal data is collected directly by our app

How we use information

We use the information collected to:

Display personalised product previews in the 3D customiser
Add the personalised name to the order for production
Fulfil and ship personalised products
Sync product information between stores

We do not use customer data for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to fulfilling personalised product orders.

Data storage and security

Personalised names are stored as order line item properties within Shopify's platform
We store merchant session tokens securely in an encrypted database to maintain app functionality
We do not store customer personal data outside of Shopify's platform
All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties, except:

ShipStation (our fulfilment partner) receives order details including personalised names for production and shipping purposes
Shopify Collective may transfer order data between connected merchant stores as part of normal order routing

Data retention

Merchant data is retained while the app is installed and deleted upon uninstallation
Order data is retained as required for order fulfilment and legal obligations

Merchant and customer rights

Merchants can:

Uninstall the app at any time, which removes our access to store data
Contact us to request deletion of any stored data

Customers can:

Contact the merchant or us directly to request information about their data
Request deletion of their personalised name from unfulfilled orders

GDPR and UK Data Protection

We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our lawful basis for processing data is the performance of a contract (fulfilling personalised product orders).
